Dear Samantha,
Shalom! The peace of the Lord be with you. I want to express my gratitude for the ministry that you are leading. You are a voice for so many who are hidden under fear and shame. God is using you powerfully, as I can testify.
I found your web site providentially last September as I dealt with a theology student that I was disciplining for sexual misconduct. As a new chair of a theology department, I was challenged by this situation and needed assistance. I was not aware that you were Adventists as I used only the tools that are offered for pastors and victims. However, that same week that I was learning more of the site, I got in contact with a dear friend: Carlos Rosero. I was surprised to learn that his wife is working in this ministry. Shyleene Rosado sent me information of the ministry and details. She even agreed to come to the Adventist University of Antilles to speak to ministerial students and pastors. She did this pro bono and even came later the next week to help a young woman who had contacted me about clergy abuse. Shyleene has continued to support this young lady and has been a resource for me as I deal with related issues.
I recently returned from the Interamerican Division year-end meetings that were held in Cuba. There I was appointed as Dean of the Interamerican Division Seminary and spoke highly about your ministry to church officials. The Ministerial Secretary of the Division is very interested in having Shyleene in the Division Ministerial gathering of next May in the Dominican Republic. We will have to work the details about this event.
I want to express my gratitude for your courage, wisdom and vision in this ministry. We pray for you and expect to fully support you. thanks for Shyleene and the ministry for the Hispanic brethren that needs so much of this ministry.
Blessings,
Efraín Velázquez
Director of Theology & Music Department
