In Quiet Desperation
I look up to the heavens for a sign,
To find some proof my cries are being heard,
I know what’s wanted can’t always be mine,
But someone needs to hear my every word.
The emptiness always returns to haunt
The soul that hides behind the brilliant sun,
Although each day its peaceful rays are sought,
The game of catching beams has never been won.
These walls of silence in an unknown world,
Are hard to penetrate and tough to break,
So when life’s waters rage and start to swirl,
His Everlasting Love with me I take.
‘Cause scars of loneliness can stain like blood,
But even floods can’t drown the flame of Love.
