Today

Today I sit in silence
But my heart is crying out
I have something to tell you
But fear is leaving me with doubt
It won’t be easy for you to hear
And even harder for me to say
But please listen carefully
Try not to run away
Please forgive me for lacking closeness
It’s hard for me to trust
Forgive me for lacking passion
It’s hard to share my heart
Forgive me for lacking emotion
I’ve been hiding for so long
I lost myself so long ago
It’s time it’s me I find
I want to feel the freedom
But fear is leaving me in bonds
I want to discover who I am
And who I am to God
So today I will tell you
The burden that is mine
And I hope you will forgive me
For holding on to it so long
